Enter the magical land of home improvementLF
Home improvement is often a daunting task. This is because of the time and the amounts of money required. However, it doesn’t have to be so bad. If you have several projects in your house, divide them up into several smaller DIY projects. For example you may want to redo the entire living room. Start simple, by just replacing the carpet, and before you know it, your living room will be like new.

Make sure you have weather stripping around all of your doors and windows. This helps you with multiple problems. It keeps air from leaking out keeping your house cooler or warmer when you’re running your A/C or heat. It can also keep little critters from finding their way in. It’s also good if you’re in an area that floods a lot, to keep water from seeping in.

Venetian blinds can be vacuumed but at some point, they need to be washed. One way to wash them is to put them in the bathtub and use a brush and solvent to clean off the accumulation of dust. An easier way, may be to wash them while still hanging. Put a plastic drop cloth underneath to keep water off the floor.

Want to save a coat or two of paint? When you paint wood or drywall that needs to be primed first tint the primer to match your final paint color. By tinting the primer you will reduce the amount of coats you need to paint the surface by a coat or two.

Use flour for emergency wall paper glue

A common occurrence in many homes is a leaky shower head. This is caused by a defective or damaged O-ring inside of the head. To stop the leak, simply apply tape to the head, and twist the head off with a pipe wrench. Find an O-ring that fits your head and place it in. Place pipe sealer around the pipe threads and screw the head back on, with a final tightening from the pipe wrench. Then test the head for any further leaks.

Use a unique container for a coffee table instead of a regular table. An antique chest or some aged luggage can make for great storage and a great accent for your room. Display some of your books, magazine and accessories on your coffee table for definition. You can even use a tablecloth and perhaps a tea set to create a country feel.

There are many different ways to improve a home. It is important, however, that you find a home improvement project that is suitable for your home’s unique features. Use the techniques discussed in the above article to successfully complete your home improvement project.
